Progressive Sports & Entertainment Bid Rejection Response
Rome, Georgia - The PROGRESSIVE SPORTS & ENTERTAINMENT GROUP regretfully announced today they will not be bringing Pro Indoor
football back to Rome Georgia. PS&EG states "Rome fans are football savvy and deserve a fair shot at community ownership of
their own team”. While in contract negotiations with the SIFL, the team was prematurely disenfranchised and without notice a
press release was sent out to discredit our organization. PS&EG was already hiring Rome businesses to aid in the success of
the team, bringing valuable jobs in these tough economic times. PS&EG was already hiring local talent to draw more dollars to
your great city. With the success of Rome Braves the formula of having Romans to help Romans is a guarantee for success.
PS&EG was blindsided and Rome has been caught in the collateral damage. Ultimately the fight is ours, but we wanted your
great city to know that the choice was made for us, not by us.
After looking at several markets in Georgia, the Professional Sports and Entertainment Group wanted to make the commitment to
return this fast-paced game to the fans of indoor football to Rome Georgia. In an effort to connect the new team with its new
community PS&EG planned to announce a contest to allow the community of Rome to choose the final name of their team. The fact
is that in Georgia all roads lead to Rome."
Todd Avery, Director of Operations with PS&EG said their group had just finalized negotiations with the Rome Forum and their
staff was very excited about this venture. "It was a pleasure working with Mr. Brent Poplin who shared our vision for the
upcoming season", said Avery.
