Rome Police Retirement / Promotion Ceremony

SCROLL FOR PICTURES - Friday, December 21, 2012, the Rome Police Department hosted a retirement celebration for Deputy Chief Lonzo Roberson. Lonzo retired after serving the department and City of Rome for 40 years, most of that time as a Deputy Chief. Roberson started as a patrol officer 40 years ago and was a part of the police department's motorcycle unit, a training sergeant, deputy chief of field operations, support services and administrative bureau during his tenure. Lonzo and his wife Be have two sons, Capt. Dave Roberson, who is with the Floyd County Sheriff's Office, and Capt. Brad Roberson, who is with the Rome/Floyd County Fire Department and two grandchildren.

As a result of Roberson's retirement, 5 positions opened up for promotions. The following employees participated in a promotional pinning ceremony today with promotions going in to affect Saturday, December 22, 2012:
