Top Stories - SOMETIMES local but MOSTLY out-of-town news!
HELLO RNT FANS!NOTE: The comments & display are a
parody & the opinion of RFN
Well here it is folks! Before you bore yourself to death reading all this, scroll down to see all the blanks then read the
following info. This demo is NOT meant to explain the obvious but more for you to actually SEE what RNT's website would look
like if all the duplicate, repurposed & out of town news content was not there. To see what it looks like in use, click HERE.
In addition to duplicating content, other tactics to appear fresh and busy are to cosmetically change or slightly alter the
story's title leaving the story itself alone and/or to move a story from one category to another. This action resets the posting
date & time to make it appear as a new story. Just scroll down and THAT is what it looks like after all the clutter & ads are
removed. Yep, an absolute empty shell of nothingness very similar to the actual paper that's getting thinner and thinner every
day. ALL of the blank areas that have headings are usually filled with OUT OF TOWN news content mixed in with the VERY SAME
local stories found under the LOCAL NEWS heading in the left column below which, as you will see, has very limited content
itself on a daily basis and not just for this demo. The other blank areas are for ADS. The MOST READ (top middle) and MOST
COMMENTED (bottom middle) sections are usually filled with duplicate stories shared from the LOCAL NEWS and LATEST
STORIES (out-of-town) sections on this SAME page! In other words, they're the SAME links placed under different headings
sometimes as many as 3 times on this page! Confused yet? RNT would like to think you are mesmerized by all the content. But
seriously, how hard could it be to copy and paste links from the AP service all day long? Well, this is a tactic to make their
website look much busier than it actually is. But if all that out-of-town and duplicate content is removed as it has been on
this demo page, you get to see the lack of LOCAL content demonstrating how desperate RNT really is to appear busy and relevant.
Be sure to take a look at the latest Poll down on the right. For more RNT insanity & video of RNT "executives" & department
heads actually making absolute buffoons of themselves, click HERE.
